A council chamber where everyone is included – clear visibility, regardless of seating position
In a council chamber, everything revolves around overview. Council members, administration, press and public must be able to follow what is happening at all times – which agenda item is being discussed, which documents are on the table and how voting is proceeding. For the municipality of Veenendaal, we were allowed to put this chamber back in sharp focus. The starting point was as simple as it was demanding: everyone must be able to clearly see the information, regardless of where they are seated.
The challenge: overview at the center
A council chamber is not an ordinary meeting room. The room is viewed from all angles, sightlines intersect, and the content displayed – agenda, presentations, voting results, video coverage – must be equally readable for everyone. Traditional setups often fall short here: anyone sitting at the side or at the back misses just that bit of context. The assignment was therefore to eliminate that fragmentation and make the chamber one shared visual experience again, with the content literally at the center.
The solution: one clear image for the entire chamber
We opted for a central visual setup that serves the entire council chamber. A large, fine-pitch LED screen displays the essential information clearly and calmly, with image quality that remains equally sharp from every seat – from the front row to the back of the public gallery. Image, sound and the digital control of the meeting work together as one system, allowing the chair to smoothly guide the chamber through agendas, presentations and votes. The result is a council chamber in which technology fades into the background and the content takes center stage: clear information, regardless of seating position.
