Complete AV renovation of the council chamber of the Municipality of Midden-Delfland
A modern, transparent and technically advanced council chamber
The challenge was clear: to create a reliable and user-friendly system in which live discussion, flawless audio, automated video direction and public accessibility via livestreaming come together seamlessly. The result is a future-proof political arena in which both physical and hybrid meetings run smoothly – and in which citizens at a distance receive top-quality image and sound.
Experience first, then build: design in virtual reality
Before a single screen was installed, we designed the entire chamber in a virtual 3D environment. This allowed the municipal clerk and the municipality's project team to digitally check the camera sightlines, the positioning of the screens and the aesthetic integration into the architecture in advance. This VR pre-engineering made it possible to experience and optimize the final result in detail already during the design phase. That prevented surprises during the physical installation and guaranteed a perfect ergonomic and aesthetic integration.
Crystal-clear discussion with automatic camera control
The heart of the chamber is a digital discussion and microphone system with meeting units for all 17 council members and the executive board. Each unit delivers crystal-clear sound and is linked to automatic camera control: the PTZ cameras immediately focus on whoever is speaking. This way, the image follows the debate automatically, without operator intervention, and every meeting runs smoothly and professionally.
Livestreaming: bringing the council directly to the citizen
Council and committee meetings are broadcast directly to the public portal via an automated control system. Citizens can therefore follow the meetings live and in high quality via the internet. This makes local decision-making more transparent and accessible, also for those who cannot be physically present.
