City of Vilvoorde takes a well-considered approach to its digital screens. The network is not only a powerful communication channel to citizens, it also plays a vital role in the internal flow of information. This dual use makes the screens the digital lifeline of the entire city organization. At dgtgroup, we expanded that network into one tool that narrows the gap between government and citizen while strengthening community spirit.

A digital guide for the citizen

The screens are strategically placed at all service touchpoints: administrative centers, service buildings, sports facilities and the swimming pool. They form the most direct and up-to-date connection with residents and show real-time information about services – waiting times, counter updates – essential citizen communication and the agenda of local events. This creates a transparent and accessible local government that actively focuses on e-inclusion and a smoother flow of visitors.

A deliberate choice for Centoview

The city deliberately chose our own Centoview platform. “The speed and simplicity of the CMS interface ensure a minimal burden on our communications team”, says Sander De Beule, communications expert. Vilvoorde works with templates and infotainment and schedules fullscreen posters and animations via Centoview. The strength lies in the centralized management: the Communications department can quickly adapt messages to target group and location, ensuring information always remains relevant and up to date – crucial in crisis situations or when service changes occur unexpectedly.

The Vilvoorde network is more than a collection of displays; it is an integral part of smart city policy and the digital bridge between city services, cultural centers and neighborhoods.
