Education revolution through the virtual campus

Learning digitally together without distance

In various parts of the country, schools face a double challenge: too few teachers and too few students of the same age to form full class groups. The Virtual Campus brings the most modern form of education together in one immersive, connecting learning environment. Behind that seemingly simple image lies a well-thought-out digitization approach that agency owner Tom Verbeeck developed together with dgtgroup. In this article, we take a look under the hood: how do you design a physical bank branch that feels both warm and digital? What technology makes that possible? And what are the barriers you have to overcome in a highly regulated sector such as banking?

Stay personal and engaged

By cleverly combining image, sound and interactive technology, dgtgroup brings students and teachers together virtually, regardless of where they are. Education remains personal and engaging, while the technology bridges the distance. An important step forward for accessible, future-oriented education — and a great example of how technology serves people.

Virtual classrooms

The idea for the virtual campus originated in the north of the Netherlands, where schools are confronted daily with a double challenge: a shortage of teachers and declining student numbers. Instead of looking for emergency solutions such as bus transport or cutting subjects, a teacher from Sneek decided to take a different approach. What if you don’t move the lessons, but connect the classrooms virtually?

As if you are together in one room

The strength of our solution lies in its simplicity. The classrooms are digitally connected through a smart setup. With a direct connection between the locations, multiple screens, cameras and microphones, everyone experiences the same lesson in real time and without delay. And it feels as if you are together in one room.
